Man of the hour (John 12)
Man of the hour – a man who has recently caught the attention of, or is being admired or honored by, a large number of people, especially for a recent victory, accomplishment, or other cause for celebration.
Jesus takes one last moment in Bethany to receive encouragement from his friends. And here, in verses 1-11, we see some important component of the early church.
There they made him a supper, and Martha served (vs 2)
Paul wrote concerning service for the Lord. “Therefore, my beloved, be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, and know that your labor is not in vain” (1 Corinthians 15:58) How do you do the Lord’s work?
Next, we see Lazarus….. Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with HIm.
What’s Lazarus doing after being raised from the dead? Sharing/Witnessing/Testifying of Jesus!
Have you had a time of sharing about Jesus lately?
Finally, we see Mary….. Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus.
How do you worship Jesus during the week? On the weekend?
1. The DECLARATION from the crowd (John 12:12-13)
2. The TRANSPORTATION provided for Jesus (John 12:14)
3. The CULMINATION of 483 years awaiting the Messiah’s arrival in Jerusalem (John 12:23)
