We are a church that believes in Jesus, a church that loves God and people. We believe in the preaching of God’s word without apology or reservation. Our musical style is a mix of modern praise songs and traditional hymns sung in a “light contemporary” style. We believe in living the truth of the Gospel in our daily lives. We support missionaries both domestic and international.

Our History
Hillside Community Church begin in 2000, when a group of Julian residents wrote to Emmanuel Faith Community Church of Escondido about starting a satellite church in Julian. After an extensive review, the elder board at Emmanuel Faith agreed, and selected Pastor Rick Hill to begin the work in Julian. The properties of the former Community Baptist church were purchased for the start of the work. After five years of hard work, prayer and strong Bible preaching, Hillside Community Church had grown strong enough to become an independent church. We continued growing and serving others in our area. In 2018, Pastor Rick announced that he was going to retire and in February of 2019, Tony Massa became our new Pastor.

Daniel – A verse by verse commentary
Daniel was a young man who was taken into captivity by the Babylonians. Although chosen to be trained to be a counselor to the King, he remained faithful to God. God revealed the plan of the future to Daniel. This commentary puts God’s plan for the future, as revealed to Daniel, in a way that we can understand.
